Numerics
The main topic of my work is concerend mith numerical computations in the area of H-matrices. In particular, the parallel treatment of these kind of matrices is of interest to me, resulting in a parallel H-matrix library, PHI for short.
To actually compute something useful, one has to fill the H-matrices with data, typically arising from FEM- or BEM-applications. In ALEPH, one can find a collection of these problems. It implements FEM in 1D, 2D and 3D with various differential operators. For BEM-problems, the single- and double-layer-potential of the Laplace-operator are available for the 3D case.
The Stokes project ist concerend with the efficient treatment of convection-diffusion-equations by reordering the unkowns in a specific way. The program also contains various iteration schemes starting from a simple Richardson-iteration to a multigrid algorithm.
